If you want short and adventurous trekking in Nepal, Helambu trek is the best choice. Helambu which is situated in Langtang Region, which has not been spoilt in spite of lying near Kathmandu Valley. Snow covered mountain, green and dense forest with lightning and colourful rhododendron and majestic waterfall are the eye catching and main attraction for the trekkers. Likewise, the wonderful view of the Great Mountain Scenery located at the border of the Tibet makes the trekkers more pleasing. Tibetans are the major ethnic group who settle down here following their own culture and tradition.

Helambu is famous for Canyoning. The natural beauties and the majestic waterfalls are the major attraction that may catch the eyes of the trekkers during the trek. After a land route of an hour, we reach Shivapuri National park which is the home of the many endangered species. As the trek goes on we pass through different beautiful places like Chisopani, Thadepati, Kutumsang and Sermathang and concluded at Melamchi Bazaar in Helambu region. During the trek we pass through dense mountain forest, wonderful sceneries of the great Himalayas, beautiful rice terrace and fine Buddhist Monasteries.

Kathmandu to Chisopani (2140m) 3 to 4 hours

Day 02 Chisopani to Gul Bhanjyang (2140m) 5 to 6 hours

Day 01: Arrive at the Kathmandu airport & transfer hotel

Our representative will assists you at the airport and transfer to hotel. You can visit our office for the discussion about the trek. You can prepare yourself for the trek in this day. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Chisopani (2140m) 3 to 4 hours

On our first day to Helambu we will drive to Sundarijal in our private vehicle. From Sundarijal we will start our trek uphill to the Chisapani crossing the Shivapuri National Park. Climbing a while we will be in Mulkharka Village which is an inhabited by Tamang people. After a further climbing through pine and rhododendron forest we will be in Chisapani.

Day 03: Chisopani to Gul Bhanjyang (2140m) 5 -6 hours

After breakfast, the trek will descends crossing meadows and fields to Pati Bhanjyang. From here the trail climbs to Chipling for our Lungh. After our lunch we will climb the steep stairs to Jhogin Danda and descend to the Tamang Village Gul Bhanjyang.

Day 04: Gul Bhanjyang to Tharepati (3640m) 5-6 hours

After breakfast, we will start our trek with a steep climb through a rhododendron forest and few shepherds’ huts. From Yurin dada we can enjoy an amazing views of Langtang and Gosaikund peaks after that we will cross the pass and descend downtoo Magen Goth for our lunch. After that we will stop at Tharepati for overnight.

Day 05: Tharepati to Melamchigaon (2530m) 5-6 hours

Today we will descend crossing large firs, then oaks, rhododendron forest and then we will cross a suspension bridge on Chhyadi Khola. After that, we will be in Melamchigaon a Sherpa Village. As we will be here early, we can explore the village rest of the day. Overnight at lodge.

Day 06: Melamchigaon to Tarke Gyang (2590m) 6 to 7 hours

From Melamchigaon, the trail descends through the forest, and fields to Melamchi Khola River. We will cross the river from suspension bridge and start the climb for Tharke Gyang. A large village in the Helambu region with stone houses.

Day 07: Tarke Gyan to Sermathang (2610m) 5 to 6 hours

The trail goes through the deep forest crossing many streams and continues our trek passing large Gompa at Chumnik. After that we will take a climb and reach the village called Sermathang.

Day 08: Sermathang to Melamchi Pul Bazaar 4 hrs trek & Drive to Kathmandu 4 hrs.

The trail descends on the ridge down to Melamchi Pul Bazaar and drive in our private vehicle to Kathmandu.

Additional Information

Accommodations
During the trip, you will not get the standard hotels. All the accommodation will be in tea-house. Some time due to lack of space, you need to sleep in Dormitory-type bedroom.
Meals
When you pass the trip, the choice for the food will be less day by day. You will not get the entire menu. So, during the trip, we suggest that you should be adjustable with whatever you wish. During the trekking, basic foods are available. But, you will get tea and coffee, and beverages round the trips.
Best Season of Trekking
Trekking is basically suited for September, October, November and March, April and May. These months have sunnier and hotter and less slippery road and can be viewed clearly. Similarly, you will prevent from some disease. Winter has harsher and snowy and rainy has more rain, so it is not suitable. However, if you wish, we can operate the trek round the year.

HIKING/TREKKING CHECKLIST
In addition to the items listed in our general checklist you will need to take the following on your trekking trip:
Sleeping bag, Heavyweight gloves or mittens with a waterproof shell outer, Down vest and/or jacket(optional), Fleece or wool trouser/pants, Trekking/Hiking boots spare laces, Thick, warm wool hiking socks, Footwear for around camp, easy running shoes and/or sandals etc.
