Gosainkund Lake is the famous trekking spot within the Langtang Region which carries the significance of the religion of Hindu and Buddhist. Gosainkunda trek is popular mostly during the full moon of August; many Hindu and Buddhist religion comes here for their cultural and religious performance. There is the belief that Lord Shiva drank the water of the lake and got relief from the poison that he took to protect the universe. So people believe that water of the lake is sign of all good lucks and they can be getting rid of any problems.

Gosainkund Lake trek also offers the majestic beauty is the spectacular valleys and passes. Similarly beautiful Langtang National Park and the trek to the end of valley to view eye catching mountains and hills. Beautiful Langtang National Park is another prime attraction where trekkers can experience numerous species of flora and fauna. Likewise dense rhododendron forest and oak trees in the way makes trekking more pleasant and gleeful. If time is sufficient then trekkers can get ample opportunity to experience the culture and tradition of local people of that region.

Additional Information

Accommodations
During the trip, you will not get the standard hotels. All the accommodation will be in tea-house. Some time due to lack of space, you need to sleep in Dormitory-type bedroom.
Meals
When you pass the trip, the choice for the food will be less day by day. You will not get the entire menu. So, during the trip, we suggest that you should be adjustable with whatever you wish. During the trekking, basic foods are available. But, you will get tea and coffee, and beverages round the trips.
Best Season of Trekking
Trekking is basically suited for September, October, November and March, April and May. These months have sunnier and hotter and less slippery road and can be viewed clearly. Similarly, you will prevent from some disease. Winter has harsher and snowy and rainy has more rain, so it is not suitable. However, if you wish, we can operate the trek round the year.

Climate
This being a high-altitude region, temperatures are lower. Winters are usually extreme with snowfall in the higher altitude regions, while summers are cool and temperate during days, but can get cold and chilly at night and during rains.

HIKING/TREKKING CHECKLIST
In addition to the items listed in our general checklist you will need to take the following on your trekking trip:
Sleeping bag, Heavyweight gloves or mittens with a waterproof shell outer, Down vest and/or jacket(optional), Fleece or wool trouser/pants, Trekking/Hiking boots spare laces, Thick, warm wool hiking socks, Footwear for around camp, easy running shoes and/or sandals etc.
