Pikey peaks is the most popular for its sunrise and sunset view and can enjoy the glorious sight of the peaks which is beyond the Kathmandu to the plain along with Himalayan ranges of the MT.EVEREST, Makalu, Mansalu and Kanchangunja himal. It is one of the tallest hills in the Solukhumbu district. And the trek takes people to some of the beautiful settlement in Solu region. A pikey peak is the newly opened trekking point and one of the most popular trekking trails of the Everest region. The Pikey Peak is one of the lower elevation view points to see the Mt. Everest (8,848m) and many more Himalayas. Also famous marvelous Himalayan scenery including the mountains range, the Rhododendron flower, Magnolia and wild orchids. The ancient Buddhist stupa and monasteries, Mani stone walls, temples, stunning flora and fauna and beautiful landscapes are the attractions on the trail.
The name Pikey is derived from the name of a Sherpa clan deity. During the month of July the locals hold celebrations to worship their clan god, the eastern Chyabo Pikey, as Pikey Hlapchen Karbu.

Additional Information

Accommodation

We will be staying at Hotel Moonlight in Kathmandu or similar and Tea-house during the trek. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional.  We will have rooms with attached washrooms in most parts of the trek but this is not possible in a few remote locations. Also understand that single rooms are not easily available in higher elevations like they are in Kathmandu and the lower elevation regions.

Meals

All meals will be provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available in Kathmandu. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners for guests. The most common cuisines in most menus will be Nepalese, Tibetan, Indian and the more common continental.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Pikey Peak Trek is a Eaasy,moderate trek suitable for trekkers who can walk at least 5-6 hours a day with a light backpack. No technical skill is required. Anyone who is physically fit with good health can participate in this trek. However, it is always best to start jogging and exercising regularly at least a month before the actual trek. Also, trekkers who have had experiences with high altitude trekking will find this trek relatively easier than others.

Best Time to Travel/Trek

Autumn (Sept. to Nov.) and spring (March to May) are the best seasons for this trek. The weather is sunny and warm with outstanding views. If you wish to avoid crowds and enjoy some alone time with nature, then taking this trip during winter (Dec., Jan., and Feb.) could also be an option.
