Trip Introduction

Ruby valley lies in the Ganesh Himal Region. The Ganesh himal has ruby deposits where the valley got its name. The valley lies in between the popular Langtang National Park and Manaslu Conversation Area. The panoramic views of the Ganesh Himal massif bless the geographical landscapes. This region remains least crowded and boasts a lot of geographical, cultural, and biological diversity. Seto, Kalo lakes, Ganga Jamuna waterfall, Chukarma waterfall, Tripurasundari temple, Parvati Kunda Lake, Ganesh Kunda Lake, hot springs, Buddhist stupas, monasteries, chortens, wildflowers, herbal and medicinal plants, ruby, crystal and zinc mining, rare and exotic wildlife, historic sites, and festivals are other attraction of this trail.

The area is predominantly inhabited by Tamang and Gurung communities, each with a unique and rich culture. Additionally, some locals still practice Shamanism, which involves communicating with spirits to heal the sick. Since this new trail is relatively unexplored by tourists, there are ample opportunities to discover new aspects of the region and learn more about its hidden gems. The trek is open for all seasons. Hotel, homestays, teahouses, camping facilities make this trail one of the most favorites places for trekking. The trekking starts from Shyabru Besi.

This trail provides stunning views of the Ganesh Himal, named after the Hindu God Lord Ganesh, as well as Boudha Himal (6672m), Langtang Lirung (7234m), Hiunchuli Dorje Lakpa (6966m), and the mountains of western and eastern Nepal. The Pangsang Pass situated at 3,842m is another attraction of the Ruby valley.
