From Kathmandu, a short flight takes you to Lukla, where your trekking adventure begins. The trail leads you through picturesque villages, across suspension bridges, and along the Dudh Koshi Valley. The Kongde section of the trek is a hidden gem, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and the entire Khumbu region. Day To Day Itinerary

Day 1

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted by the magnificent views of the valley and the Himalayas. A representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Take some time to settle in and explore the bustling streets of Kathmandu, with its narrow alleyways, ancient temples, and vibrant markets. In the evening, you can enjoy a delicious meal in the tourist hub of Thamel.

Day 2

Embark on a full-day exploration of the cultural highlights of Kathmandu. Visit Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, which offers panoramic views of the city and is adorned with colorful prayer flags. Explore the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and witness the rituals and ceremonies taking place on the banks of the Bagmati River. Continue to Patan Durbar Square, known for its ancient palaces, temples, and intricate architecture.

Day 3

Day 4

Embark on a challenging but rewarding trek to Namche Bazaar, the bustling Sherpa town and commercial hub of the Everest region. The trail crosses suspension bridges, ascends steep hills, and offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks. Upon reaching Namche Bazaar, take some time to explore the vibrant town and soak in the stunning mountain scenery.

Day 5

This day is dedicated to acclimatization and exploration. Take a scenic hike to the neighboring villages of Khumjung and Kunde, which provide insights into Sherpa culture and offer panoramic views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other Himalayan peaks. Visit the famous Hillary School and the Khunde Hospital, both of which were established by Sir Edmund Hillary.

Day 6

Continue your trek to Thame, a picturesque village nestled in a stunning valley. The trail takes you through rhododendron forests, past prayer wheels and mani walls, and offers enchanting views of the surrounding landscapes. Thame is known for its mountaineering history and the 16th-century Nyingmapa Gompa, a monastery built by Lama Rolwa Dorje.

Day 7

Upon reaching Kongde, you will be greeted by the awe-inspiring beauty of the surroundings. Kongde is a secluded and lesser-known destination, offering tranquility and breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Settle into your accommodation and take some time to explore the area, immersing yourself in the peaceful atmosphere and enjoying the serenity of the mountains.

Day 8

Today, you have the option to embark on an exhilarating hike to Farak Ri, reaching an altitude of 5,000 meters. This challenging yet rewarding trek takes you to a panoramic viewpoint that offers unparalleled vistas of the Everest region, including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and many other towering peaks. Marvel at the majestic Himalayan panorama and capture unforgettable moments.

Day 9

Prepare for an extraordinary experience as you embark on a helicopter tour to Everest Base Camp from Kongde. Enjoy a scenic flight over the Khumbu region, witnessing breathtaking aerial views of the snow-capped peaks, deep valleys, and glaciers. Land at Everest Base Camp and spend some time in this iconic location, soaking in the remarkable surroundings. Afterward, board the helicopter and fly back to Kathmandu, where you can relax and reflect on your incredible journey.

Day 10

Your unforgettable Everest’s Hidden Gem, Kongde Trek ends today. After breakfast, you will have some free time for last-minute souvenir shopping or further exploration of Kathmandu. At the designated time, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure, carrying with you cherished memories and a sense of accomplishment from your adventure in the Everest region.
