Trip Introduction

Helambu, Gosaikunda Trek lies in Langtang National Park which is close to the main city of Kathmandu. This diverse trek offers you to explore nature and culture of the Buddhist Tibetan Nepalese people.
The trail to starts from Sundarijal which is an hour’s drive from the main city. Sundarijal lies in Shivapuri National Park which is an important water reservoir for water supply into Kathmandu valley. It is also the main source of Bagmati and Bishumnati river. The birds, flora and fauna of the national park is a protected by the forest rangers.
We ascend to through a popular hiking trail of Chisapani. From a viewpoint we can see the majestic snow-capped Himalayan Mountain range such as  Ganesh Himal (7405m), Dorje Lhakpa (6990m), Langtang, Gaurishankar, and many more.
From Chisapani we head Kutumsang and head towards Tharepati. Passing by the scenic routes we reach Phedi before finally reaching Gosaikunda at an elevation of 4380m the highest for our trek.
Gosaikunda is a sacred alpine lake nestled in Nepal’s Langtang National Park. Day To Day Itinerary

Day 1

Today you arrive in Tribhuvan International Airport our company representative will receive you. After a brief documents and baggage check we will transport you to the hotel as per your booking. Upon your arrival in the hotel, you will be greeted with welcome drinks. After relaxing for a while, we will meet at the hall. Our senior guide will explain about the upcoming trek.

Dinner and overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2

A healthy continental breakfast help prepare for our day, a short drive to Sundarijal takes us to the starting point of trek. From there we trek through the forest trail there can find the Sundarijal waterfall, Okhreni waterfall and Dhap dam along the way. After 5hours hike we reach the hotel lodge where we can rest for the night.

Day 3

From Chisapani we start our journey towards Kutumsang. The path is an adventurous one as you ascend and descend the hill. Walking along the rocky trail with forest all around you, you will come across many waterfalls. From a view point along the road, you can immerse in the view of Ganesh Himal, Phurbi Chyachu, Dorje Lakpa mountain range. Along the way to our destination, you will come across the settlement of Pati Bhanjyang and Thanjhune Bhanjyang. Then we follow the trail that leads to Kutumsang. Upon reaching we can see big chortens and prayer flags across the surroundings.

Day 4

Start your day with an early breakfast and set off for Tharepati. Travel through the lush forest trail filled with oak, bamboo, and pine trees, tackling some steep inclines and descents along the way. From a view point at Kyuola Bhanjyang, where you can catch a glimpse of the majestic Shisapangma peak to the east. Pass through the quaint village of Mangingoth and continue on a flat path leading to Tharepati, surrounded by towering cedars, junipers, oaks, and rhododendrons. After basking in the scenic beauty, arrive at Tharepati at a local teahouse to rest and relax. Hike to a nearby hill to take in the breathtaking views of Rolwaling Himal and Langtang if you stay for a while, you can perhaps catch the sunset. A good night’s rest helps you prepare for the more adventures ahead.

Day 5

As you gradually ascend higher the path toughens. Trekking from Tahrepati to Phedi leads you through an adventurous terrain, with rocky slopes, river crossings, and winding trails hugging cliff edges. Beyond Gopte, the scenery changes where trees start to thin out, giving way to rugged shrubs and sparse vegetation. Pushing through steep climbs up stone steps, you finally arrive at Phedi, nestled amidst barren peaks. You can find some teahouses where you can buy necessary essentials that will help you on your journey ahead. Spend the night in Phedi, surrounded by the wild embrace of nature.

Day 6

On the 6th day we hike from Phedi to the scared lakes of Gosaikunda. Today our path takes us past the Laure Binayak Pass while coming across the Suryakunda Lake. We have to be careful while ascending as the oxygen level decreases. But needless to worry having our trusty guide by our side we continue our trail seeing prayer flags and stone chortens decorating along the pass. We can also find some Buddhist shrines built along the way.

From Laure Binayak La Pass we can see the splendid views of the Langtang, Himalchuli, Ganesh himal and Manaslu range. Along the way a trail has been carved besides the hill, we have to be careful while walking along the steeo ridges. As we travel closer to the lake our path becomes narrower and flatter.

As we reach the main destination of our day, we can see the many lakes surrounding the valley. The deep blue water of Gosaikunda Lake, Chandrakunda, Suryakunda, Aamakunda, Bhairav Kunda lakes and serval other lake in the region will simply leave you awe struck. After resting in one of the tea houses, we can explore the place. Along the lake shore we can see the many Shrines and Shiva Lingas dedicated to lord Shiva.

Gosaikunda is said to be the most spiritual spot, people who knows it significance come here to meditate and seek peace. If you travel here between the month of July and August which falls in the Nepali month of Shrawan you can finds Hindu devotees in the masses who travel here in the occasion of ‘Janai Purnima’. This festival falls on during the full moon which of great significance to the Hindu devotees.

Day 7

We wake up early to watch the shimmering views of lake reflected by the morning sun. After a warm breakfast we cross to Laure Binayak Pass again to reach the Cholang Pati settlement, here we can rest and have lunch before heading out to Dhunche.

Hiking along the trail surrounded by rhododendron shrubs, pine trees and wildflowers. We reach the Tamang settlement of Chandanbari also known as Sing Gompa. This hill side settlement offers the peaceful view of the mountain range. We can find Buddhist monastery and a Yak cheese Factory where we can try out the local made cheese. After strolling around the village, we head towards Dhunche Bazaar crossing suspension bridges. Further along the trail hiking down the rocky path alongside the Trishuli river, we reach the bustling busy Tamang settlement of Dhunche.

Day 8

From Dhunche you can take a private vehicle or a bus to Kathmandu. Enjoying the view, riding along the gravel and asphalt paved Pasang- Lamu highway we reach Kathmandu where we can rest and relax at the hotel. In the evening, we can stroll around Thamel bazar shopping for souvenirs.

Day 9

Today the final day of our Helambu and Gosaikunda Trek we bid farewell to Nepal. Then our representative we transport you to Tribhuvan International Airport 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
