Trip Introduction

The 9-day Kori Trek is a hidden gem, located in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This newly estabilshed trekking route sees few travellers. Trekking to Kori offers some of the spectacular view of the snow-capped mountain and excellent panoramic landscapes. Hiking to highest point of this trek Kori Dadha (3,800m) viewpoint makes it and excellent choice to view the isolated yet beautiful panoramic landscapes. Annapurna IV, Tangting, Sikles village and can be view from the top of this hill. The dadha (meaning hills or hilltop where one can view the nearby scenic view) also boasts a beautiful grassland that is blanketed in snow during winter and covered in greenery during spring.This trek is ideal for nature lovers and novice travelers looking for some tranquility and less travelled trail.

Sikles Village:

The settlement of Sikles is a large village mainly of the Gurung community. The local here are familiar with tourist and are friendly and welcoming towards every other visitor. Many travelers are interested in discovering the history and the lifestyle of the locals and people living around the region.

Therefore, the trek will be a perfect opportunity for such trekkers. The locals in the region are friendly and always willing to help and support travelers. Exploring the town, you will be able to see the local way of life by observing their houses, traditional clothes, and cuisines.

Hugu Goth:

Hugu is one of the ancient settlements in the Annapurna region. Animal husbandry is the main means of livelihood of the people here. Situated at an elevation of 2,100m the nearest settlement the village of Sikles is about 6 hours away.

Kapuche Glacier Lake:

The lake with crystal-clear blue water sits at an altitude of 2,546m above sea level. Kapuche Glacier Lake is the lowest glacier lake in the world. The temperature of the lake can reach sub-zero during winter, and the surface can turn into ice.

The name “Kapuche” is a combination of the word “Ka” meaning snow or ice, “Pu” which means breaking down and sliding and “Che” which means landing on flat land. Essentially, “Kapuche” means fallen ice that has settled on a valley, which forms the glacial lake.

Day 1

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the evening exploring the vibrant streets of Thamel or relaxing at your leisure.

Day 2

Enjoy a scenic drive to Pokhara, a picturesque city by Phewa Lake. Along the way, marvel at the rolling hills, terraced fields, and local villages. Upon reaching Pokhara, settle into your hotel and explore the lakeside area.

Day 3

Embark on an adventurous jeep drive to Sikles, one of the largest Gurung villages in Nepal. The village offers a glimpse into traditional Gurung culture and lifestyle. Explore the stone-paved streets, visit local homes, and enjoy the majestic views of Annapurna and Lamjung Himal.

Day 4

Begin your trek through lush forests, crossing streams and small settlements to reach Hugu Goth. Continue your journey to Kapuche Lake, a stunning glacial lake with crystal-clear waters. The serene surroundings and reflection of the peaks on the lake make this a memorable spot.

Day 5

Early morning after breakfast, trek down to Hugu Goth. Here after lunch trek through rhododendron forests, enjoying the tranquility of the trail. Along the way, spot various birds and wildlife native to the area. The trail offers occasional glimpses of snow-capped peaks before arriving at Nohtha, a serene stopover.

Day 6

The trek to Kori Danda is challenging but rewarding, with panoramic views of Annapurna, Lamjung Himal, and Manaslu ranges. The trail takes you through alpine landscapes, and upon reaching Kori Danda, view the amazing sweeping vistas of the region.

Day 7

Descend through lush greenery and forest trails as you make your way back to Sikles. Trekking back to the village offers new perspectives of the landscape and allows you to revisit the cultural richness of the area. After a long day’s trek, you can rest as you prepare for the next day’s drive back to Pokhara.

Day 8

Take a scenic jeep ride back to Pokhara, where you can relax by the lake or explore the city’s attractions. The journey back is a great opportunity to reflect on the trek.

Day 9

Conclude your trek with a drive back to Kathmandu. Relish the memories of the trek as you pass through scenic countryside and bustling towns.

Overnight in Kathmandu or transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
